What the Hall has to offer

The Hall is situated on Grayswood Village Green opposite the Church of All Saints with views out across the green and cricket square to the ancient village oak tree (as seen in our logo). We have two function rooms available at the hall for hire, the main hall for larger groups, events and activities and a smaller function room for business meetings, smaller groups and events.

The Hall

The Main Hall

The main hall is 9m wide by 27m long and will accommodate up to 113 people seated on 26 tables (145cm x 75cm). It has a large vaulted ceiling room with south facing windows that overlook Grayswood village green and the cricket pitch. There are large double doors that open on to a picket fenced terrace equipped with seating overlooking the green. There is no raised stage in the hall, but hired structures can be brought in with prior arrangement. The floor on the hall is wooden, making it ideal for any event whether it be an exhibition, party, club or business conference.

Weddings

The hall is a beautiful and bright room to hold your reception for up to 113 guests. We offer a sole hire agreement for the whole hall from Friday 5pm until Saturday 12pm to hirers who have a connection with the Village or surrounding area. We take just 1 wedding booking between May and September (please enquire early as this gets booked up in advance) and an unlimited amount the rest of the year. Catering for your event in the Main Hall

The main hall is equipped with a large kitchen suitable for food preparation and serving, directly to the hall through a wide serving hatch. The kitchen is professional equipped with a large range and oven, under the counter refrigerator, commercial dishwasher, microwave, freezer, hot beverage dispenser and is ideally suited for DIY or professional caterers. You or your caterers will feel right at home in our spacious and professionally equipped kitchen, which is included in your hire of the hall, as is the use of tables and chairs which are easily accessible from a storage area adjoining the main hall.

There is no glassware or cutlery provided by the hall, so if you are serving wine or cold drinks, you will need to bring sufficient glassware. If you are preparing or serving food, you will also need to bring any kitchenware you need, such as cutlery, knives, pots, pans or oven trays.

Customising the hall

You can also decorate the hall for your event. (Though no nails, drawing pins or bluetack are allowed) A range of lighting moods can be created, from bright and cheerful with the attractive overhead lights, to intimate and atmospheric, using the wall up lighters. All ideal for when the time comes to strike up the band and take to the dance floor, your guests will love our sprung wooden floor which was laid especially with the fleet-of-foot in mind.

The Oonagh Jeffrey Room

Don't forget that if you are planning a more select gathering, for up to thirty guests, the Oonagh Jeffrey Room may be just the space you are looking for. Comfortable seating, fully carpeted and with a view of the Green and the Church from the large, feature window, this is a room everyone loves to be in. With its own private kitchenette and china for tea and coffee, you will be able to serve hot and cold beverages and light refreshments with ease.This room is a fitting memorial to the late Oonagh Jeffrey, a popular and much loved resident of the village. Her family were extremely generous benefactors to the Grayswood Millennium hall appeal and funding many items in the hall that would have been unattainable without their generous help.
